Over the last year, we've been working hard on the next version of Timebox - Timebox Photo Galleries 3D. We’ll be ready to show you more soon but in the meantime here are a few screenshots. Stayed tuned!
How Photography Impacts You
Over the years we’ve read about how photos affect our memories, mood and focus. This video from Wired is interesting with a different take on some of those topics. If you wonder why you might feel or look different when taking a selfie, check it out. It also covers how we each evaluate possible photo opportunities differently.
"We take millions of photographs. How are all of our snaps affecting our eyes, brains, and bodies? WIRED Senior Editor Peter Rubin looks at the ways that selfies can distort our self perception, shoots with a pro photographer, and examines the way that all those images are affecting our moods and memory."
Past Tense Part 2 - The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
We recently wrote about the Past Tense storytelling project at the New York Times. In a new article the Past Tense staff asked the creators of Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel to look at photos from their archives and to share their thoughts about the New York as shot by Times photographers and the New York of their show.
We love the photos in this article along with the comments of the show’s creators, Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband, Daniel Palladino. They know how things looked back in 1959 and thanks to modern technology can make their show look the part.
They also make sure their actors and extras also look and act the part, “Don’t walk down the street in the scene like you’re in 1959, just walk down the street.” Neither the look or the action appears to be “old-timey” because if you were in New York back then it was a modern world.
The show’s creators know what they’re doing and they probably found some inspiration by looking at the photos from the archive. We don’t know how they could stop looking since the photos are so interesting and don’t just represent the times but show the real thing.
