scenes and 3D Models

WHAT IS A TIMEBOX Scene?

Scenes are a new way to make sharing your photos and stories more entertaining for your friends, family and even yourself. Personally design (no programming experience required) the exterior and interior of each scene using:

  • Animated 3D models

  • Photo stories - customizable collections of photos, videos, Live Photos, captions, text, maps and tags.

  • Slideshows - a powerful way to play your favorite photo stories anywhere in your scenes. Choose from multiple shapes, finishes and colors including televisions and easels.

  • Colors

  • Furnishings

  • Animals

  • Landmarks

  • Vehicles

  • Your own USDZ 3D models

  • And more.

Then invite people to explore and “walk around” your shared 3D scenes using the normal iOS gestures to pan and pinch zoom. They add their photo stories to yours about a trip, event or person to make the ultimate shared scene.

Each Timebox user starts with:

  • One private scene called Photo Library that contains scrollable grid and map timelines with all your daily photo stories (as long as you gave Timebox permission to access your Photo Library) and an Albums Room for your Shared Albums.

  • If you are logged into iCloud you also get one shared scene, to which you can privately invite family, friends, colleagues and clients to connect and collaborate with you.

If you purchase a Timebox Scene Maker Unlimited subscription you can add unlimited additional scenes anytime by tapping + followed by Make New Scene. You can also make new scenes from a timeline by tapping the Add To button and then tapping Make New Scene. Three shared scene templates are included: Family Stories, Group Travelogue and Team Histories.

All your scenes are customizable with just 2 buttons, Paintbrush and +. Easily design and decorate the interiors and exteriors of your scenes with additional rooms, windows, colors, lighting and 3D models including:

  • Furnishings

  • Decor

  • Slideshows

  • Landscaping

  • Landmarks

  • Sports equipment

  • Musical instruments

  • Vehicles

  • Your own 3D (USDZ) models

When you are in a shared scene you can also use the + to add Stories from the Photo Library.

Tap the Circular Arrow button in the lower left corner to refresh the view.

Tap the Information button in the lower left corner for onscreen help.

Tap the Timebox icon in the upper left for online help at Timeboxapp.com, to Send Feedback, Rate Timebox or Signup for Timebox news.

Photo stories in a shared scene are stored in iCloud and are viewable and optionally editable by other people that you invite. You can add or remove photo stories from a shared scene at any time with either Add To or the Trash Can. You can also add or remove invited people or change their permissions (Can make changes and view-only) by tapping People in the upper right.

Timebox is iOS only. People without iOS devices can view your scenes but not collaborate using the timebox.co web app.

How do I Animate 3D models and customize Scenes?

A 3D model is a photo-realistic drawing that you can see all the sides of by panning around it. Timebox comes with hundreds (more on the way) of built-in 3D models that can be animated, for many styles of furniture, decor, landscaping, musical instruments, sporting gear and vehicles. You can also add your own "USDZ” 3D models that you can acquire from 3D model web sites, in-house 3D model artists and 3D model design tools.
